Hey there,
This meme is the most accurate description of what I wanted to do vs. what I actually did in December.
I had grand plans in terms of the things I wanted to achieve.
But..
I didn't achieve most of them.
And, that is alright.
Because I spent a lot of good time with family, lazed around, and (finally) got to the tasks that were pending for a LOOOONNGG time.
With that said, this is my last email of the year. So I want to use this opportunity to wish you and your family a new year filled with a lot of learning, health, and success.
In this edition, I am sharing 12 of the most meaningful learnings from the last 12 months. From each of them, you will learn something concrete and meaningful about product management.
So here goes:
- 80% of product features are never used. Here are 6 reasons why that happens
- Creating a roadmap is not complicated. It is a simple 3 step process
- The difference between Product and Project management
- A holistic understanding of product management, and a PM's responsibilities.
- Create an effective Annual Plan in 7 steps
- 10 Product Documents that every product manager should master
- 30 most commonly used technical terms (free resource)
- Product Strategy document -- what you should include in it.
- Best books to read for every level of product management
- The best questions to ask while creating success metrics.
- Who does what: PM , EM, Designer
- Product sense explained (in 6 minutes)
P.S. I haven't forgotten about the retention curves I spoke about last time. As promised, I will share more details in the next edition.
P.P.S. Many PMs who completed the FOP course, reached out to me to share how happy they are because of the way it has transformed how they approach their roles and career. If you haven't already, this is a great time to check it out, invest in your learning, and start your year on a high note. (Order before 2024, and get 25% OFF. Code: JAPM25)
